They were built somewhere in Europe and suppsidly haad a three point hitch design before Ferguson. Sincerly stevie-b
TX'n wrote on Wednesday, October 04, 2000 (PDT):I have my only nephew living in London and he goes for outings looking for tractors. His name is David Brown, so he does seem to find more of them than Fords, but I enjoy his travels from the states, as I enjoy your memories. Please keep writing. Thanks. TX'n

richard minards wrote on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 (PDT):ref air start, can you please help! I have a 1938 Yanmar model "2 DG" 2cyl 50 hp diesel @600 rpm. weight 3 ton the air start valve body has been "lost" during world war 11 i am trying to reinstate it (currently "snatchum" strap and landcruiser for starting!) can you help with any information regarding the valve body to control the air to the piston for starting? the engine is 175 mm bore 280 mm stroke, do you have any idea what volume of air is required? what dia. piping? what pressure? Also the engine has a "poppet" valve in the head on the starting cylinder, i assume as an air inlet to recharge the bottle? again if you have any information on recharging the bottle please let me know. Is it permissible to use an oxy bottle? or is it essential to use a compressed air bottle? sorry about all the questions best regards richard > > can you help with any information regarding the valve body to control > > the air to the piston for starting?
arnie mearns wrote on Sunday, March 16, 2003 (PST):I really enjoyed your views on the Turner or at least to read any views on it at all! Same with the Newman. My Dad was going to restore one to running condition But the block was cracked. Don't know what the engine was tho'. Thanks for reviving old memories! Arnie
Maurice Blakey wrote on Sunday, October 31, 2004 (PST):Was the single cylinder Dorman engine the side valve one? I thought it never went into production. A friend I worked with once upon a time previously worked for Dorman and had one of the side valve prototypes. He said that the reason it did not go into production was that it was very difficult to start

Richard Barber wrote on Sunday, January 20, 2008 (PST):Interesting article Brian. I was at Huddersfield Tech. in the early '60's. Nlck Harty, the machinery instructor, was an enthusiast of all things mechanical and among the collection was a BMB President and a David Brown 2DV vinyard tractor. Shame about Nuffield and Leyland. I know a couple of contractors who got their start with them. There seem to be quite a few here in Canada but they go cheap due to the price of parts and time to obtain them.Have seen a 10/60 travel the length of a 20 acre field on its rear wheels pulling a 3 furrow digger plough. They were fun days.
