  • UNLESS THE TRACTOR HAD TO BE SOLD WITH THE FARM, WHY DIDN'T THE FATHER JUST GIVE THE TRACTOR TO HIS SON AS A GIFT AS TO KEEP IT IN THE FAMILY.

  • Yes...know what you mean, I too have a 350 LP gas my dad bought new, just got it looking good a year ago. Have it on the farm for light duty, spraying, blading. Have 2 other 350's too picked up over the years. Handy tractor with the hydraulics. You had a great story...I know the feeling of all the things we have done with these great tractors !! MJD

  • Yeah my Grandpa has had his H every since i was little. He taught me how to drive it when i was very young. I always did his snow for him but know my h is in serious need of restoration. it needs an overhaul preatty bad and the rings are shot.I always told my grandpa that i wanted it when he passed away and now i hope to get it so i can restore it. Farmall is my favorite tractor and i hope someday case will recontinue production.

  • Hate to admit this, but I was born in 1940, the same year my dad bought the little Farmall A. I have a picture of me and my sister (18 yrs older than me) on the tractor. I wish I still had the little toy Model A that came with it. It had real rubber tires and was a real sweetheart. I'm gonna be great gramma soon and I'm hoping for a little farmer, so if anybody knows of one that can be had for less than an arm and a leg give me an e-mail. The tractor was still being used into the '80's when a fire burned down the garage where it was parked. My sister felt so bad, she hunted down another one and replaced it. The original one did a lot of work in it's day. My dad made a snow plow for it, so it didn't even get to rest in the winter time.

  • Your dad should have given you the tractor when he retired. That is what I will do for my son.

  • You lucked out. I had to stand and watch my dad s Massey Ferguson 65 sell at his farm liquidation sale for a trifling 1700.00. A neighbor practically begged my dad to let him bid it in and keep it, but my dad s healty and thinking were a bit faulty at the time and he insisted Everything must go regardless. At the time, I had a low paying job and a first wife that kept me broke, so I just had to stand helplessly by and watch my favorite tractor of all be stolen for that ridiculous sum. Today I have an upgraded 2N Ford that serves me well, but it ll never begin to be what the Massey was. It still makes me sick when I think about it.

  • Would love to see your pics if you still have them. Congrats for getting your Dads 350. Sentimental value is worth lots more than the price you paid.

  • Whats the price on hay rolls out your way ? 40 here in Vermont. What year is that good look'n Ford truck ?The good news is, so far we haven't had the amount of crniilppg ice we have experienced the past 2 years. The even better news is that most of the giant snowstorms of the past 2 months have mostly missed us. We still don't have eought hay to last til May. Love your photos.Janis

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract. ... [Read Article]
