  • Your letter stated about a 3 pt. hitch single acting cylender I have a 35 massyfergson and i would like information on having a single action cylender for the top link to operate a rear scoop. some say a single action cylender. but what kind of valve is needed to operate this. I would appreciate any info on this subject.

  • Curtis, Thanks for the follow-up article and addressing my previous question. The solution to my problem was simple. I disassembled the piston and found there was NO seal/seals That was letting the oil pass into the "front chamber" there-by in effect locking the piston against movement.A trip to the JD dealer for new seals and now it works great. Thanks, Tim Wheaton

  • Outstanding. Please point out correct proceedures to test hyd systems without opening hyd systems to atmosphere. Also how to take apart without using compressed air. Safety first. This is a very informative article

  • One basic subject that was not covered is the difference between welded and tie rod cylinders, and their applications. It's basic, but that is usually one of the things I look at when thumbing through a hydraulics catalog.
