The manual tells you a lot about them. It also states to not take it completely apart unless you have a magnetic recharge capability (echoing someone's comments here).
worth a read. And clean the points with very fine grit sandpaper, clean with paper and drop some rubbing alcohol on them to get the last bit of oil off them. Clean is critical...
