The DC is faster on the road . and slower in the field in low gear. THERE ARE Just .so dam many differences CASE Co. ought to be ashamed of themselves for building the bacasswards SC, last Nite i Pulled the barn door off with the feed grinder , because I thought I was going to back up , AND I WAS IN 3RD.. thats Why I am VENTING ! Flimsy solid steel VERY bendable steering rod , Battery on either tractor in different and POOR locations, The DC has a Man killer radiator , the SC radiator housing can be destroyed /smashed RUNNING into or under something , While reaching for the hand clutch on prefootclutch models ,, MOST SCs had the hand clutch on right , most DCs had them on the LEFT ???? WTH ,for the worn out farmer who happens to own both models , Although Case Offered a opposite clutch side option kit ,, I have both DC and SC with Ft Clutches , Both built in 1954 ,and use them weekly ... what frustrates me is though both tractors feel the same in CHARACTOR , they are Difinitely not the Same , I HAVE TO STOP and THINK when Shifting Gears around the barn lot ,when hopping from one to the other , Invariably while on the SC , When wanting to back up I will Place the Shifter in 3rd (DC POSITION) And pull up instead,, More often I kill the candy SC motor... a healthy DC will do twice the work of an Sc with the same amount of Fuel in Comfort .. I have a tuff49 VAC , that will make the SC blush in shame ... My SC has been Rebuilt .. I t should be a Powerhorse like the SC I sold my Nephew In defense , of My SC , the Governor just can't be right.. It does OK on the Feed Grinder ,, There is No way it will go to War and pull a Plow . like my DC is Anxious to do ..... other dumb differences are Brakes ,(Whynot interchangable )?..The Entire Front wheel Assemblies are totally different ,the tranny housing LOOKs identical(but Can't Be , because intelligent logics says they would have the same gear pattern ), Although the fenders , Seat , Hydraulic pump Will Interchange , WOW .Also . The 38 " wheels interchange as well with a JD, IHC as common vendor parts .... BUT GUYS , I always Dreamed of Having a pair of SC /DC footclutchers ,,, Now that I have them , I am still Pleased ,, , just can't figure out what Case was or (was NOT THINKING ) , when they engineered these tractors....LOL
