I can't speak for the M as we never had one and I only drove a few for fun. We always farmed with D series Cases and the DC's did everything they were ever asked to do and never needed to be refueled before the day was over. The only complaint I have was the fact that 1st gear was too slow and 2nd was too fast for baling hay and picking corn. That nitwit Clausen should have been fired a lot sooner. A late model DC with 4" pistons, live PTO, live hydraulics, Eagle Hitch and easy ride seat is a very good machine. It was just a case of too little-too late to sell as much as IH. Case design in tractors was always playing catchup in the 40's and 50's.
