If you would post a picture it would help. There are a some ways to tell what it really is. Is there an eagle hitch? Does the steering go down through the dash? Does the steering shaft go on the front side if the dash of the tractor or into a steering box at the top of the torque tube? Does the shaft on the side have u-joints by the radiator? Does it have a rooster type shaft going down the side of the tractor? All these questions can lead you to finding out what type of tractor you have. A vac 13 is considered a new style tractor. The front end you are talking about is more like the old style vac. I would look for the id tag on the dash. It will also say whether or not it is a vac 13 and by the serial number. It sounds more like late old style with a wide front. A prime example of this type of wide front is VAH. There is a picture in the case photo gallery and look up vah. The one by Frazier. If your tractor looks that but closer to the ground you have an old style wide front VAC.
