So if i understand this correctly the stud you mentioned is really a bolt? If its a bolt push it in as far as possible and cut it off. repeat until bolt is gone. Get a piece of allthread that will fit all the way thru +. Put locktite in a square nut and on the stud the correct size and pull stud into position. after mounting wheel and tightening all the nuts cut off the surplus.
