Yes I think think you guy's are right. I can see how that would work. And yes I can see at the bottom of that rod that it is broken so it must have been longer. I've always had problems trying to get the hydraulics to stay in a hold postion. I guess this contraption would prevent the ram from lowering to an undesirable position.
