1. Old, I added the ATF in each cylinder and have let it soak two days and it does have better compression. 2. I took off the valve cover and had a look see. Nothing hanging up. Everything did get a blast of PB to help with anything I may have overlooked. 3. Took the carb off and did a fast clean on it with the PB as well. Yes it was gummy and is now clean. I shot it through every port and it came out the other end. Even cleaned it out with the tip cleaners from the torch.
Here's the update. I have gas to the carb. I have free valves. I have added ATF to the cylinders and PB. Been there two days. Much better compression. But she doesn"t even want to start. I have yet to pull the tractor since I need the rear tire. I'd rather leave it sit and monkey with it there rather than pull it and then have a tractor on the rim. I'm sure it's something I have missed. Will be getting the fluids changed and also getting the points and condenser changed as well this week.
If any of you have more advice on what to look for and to be sure of that would be helpful. I'm able to do the work but sometimes a second opinion is better.
