i would get the old oil out and try with different oil. just buy 4 quarts of cheap stuff. it will need to be changed a second time after it runs and flushes out some of the old oil. if the new oil gets overfull with water, take off the valve cover and look at the three freeze plugs under the rocker arm. they can rust out and cause that problem.
