Patience is a Virtue | Back in the 1970s a company got a huge contract to construct a building. They were eager to start, but it was very muddy. They tried to drive a tracked loader onto the property to start sitework. It got stuck. So then they took the International TD-25 they had and hooked a chain between it and the tracked loader. The TD-25 then got stuck. For those of you who aren't familiar with the International/Dresser line of dozers they are comparable to a Caterpillar D8. They called the local towing company. The towing company stayed out on a hard surface and ran cables in to the TD-25. They pulled on the cable as hard as they could with one of their new trucks. The cable snapped and it came back and dented the differential cover severely. The towing company then brought out even more trucks and they pulled and pulled on their cables and finally got both the TD-25 and tracked loader out of the mud. It took them a few days and thousands of dollars to get those machines out. The moral of the story is that patience truly is a virtue.
